▶️ According to some reports Mateu Alemany was upset about Gil Marín's veto on negotiating Julián's departure with Barça. Since it has limited his ability to maneuver in the transfer market, just as he had planned. And consequently, Simeone comes out harmed, because he didn't want the player for his project, and preferred another striker instead.
▶️ Atletico Madrid also has finical problems that could’ve been fixed with the sale of Alvarez. For example Nicolás Tagliafico had a total agreement with Atleti but deal fell through on deadline day because of FFP.
