Friday night on a picket line! @Culinary226 was out in full force outside WestGate. Walked the line with my union family, @Astrid_NV and @tsegerblom. No contract? No peace!
Meet Ashenafi, a Sales Lead at Hudson News, and a #CulinaryUnion member for 7 years: “I got involved with the Culinary Union when a bunch of my coworkers and I decided to wake up and get our contract signed. 📝” https://t.co/VuG03opeet #Vegas
"This whole thing really only works if we're in solidarity with each other. We're just one union, and it's really important for us to make sure that they get the same standard of living that we got in our contract and all the protections that we got." https://t.co/TdmTHtMd4m
@LasVegasLocally@Casino_Org@Karaoke_Jesus@Culinary226 I understand tech, but when it comes to customer service sometimes it does not work. Call any bank or amazon I'm sure u hate getting voice prompt .. most people want to talk to a human that is why call centers are all over the world.
@LasVegasLocally@Casino_Org@Karaoke_Jesus@Culinary226 Guest checks in hotel on mobile checkin. Gets to room and it only has one bed he wants two. Is a human or he has to walk all the back downstairs. He want a rollaway bed. He wants a frig. He wants laundry .. does he walk it down. TV goes out . Now what.
@LasVegasLocally@Casino_Org@Karaoke_Jesus@Culinary226 Ahh how about maintaince on the machines and robots or whatever is in the future. Service contracts alone will be astronomical, and they will be like apple a new version ever 6 months.
Negotiations update: No agreements reached yet with any casino.
Negotiations (and strike preparation) continue. We will keep fighting to ensure workers aren’t left behind as corporations make record profits! ✊🏾💪🏻✊🏿💪
Contract deadline: June 1st.

“I don’t want to go on strike, but I will,” said Adela, a guest room attendant at the Aria. “The company is more profitable than ever because of the hard work we do, and I’m going to keep fighting to make sure that we have a fair share of that success.” https://t.co/muhgqV0TYT
Vegas casino workers threaten to strike: The last time the Culinary Union led a strike in Vegas was in 1984. Nearly 15,000 workers walked out of their jobs, and the strike lasted over two months, costing some $75 million in taxable revenue for the city. https://t.co/XkhoAx11jc
25,000 #LasVegas members of @culinaryunion vote to strike, possibly downing tools on or just after 1 June. New 5-year contracts up for negotiation, so walkout threats might be bargaining ploy? Same thing happened 15 years ago, but a strike was averted. @Hotel_News_Now #hotelnews
