Bhoganandisvara temple in Kolar district is one of the finest Dravidian temples in Karnataka. It’s just not a single temple but a complex built over a period of more than six centuries beginning from eighth century C.E.

Galaganatha temple opening to the east side and located to the north of the Virupaksha temple is another fine elegant temple at Pattadakal.
The #Monument consists of garbhagriha, sukhanasi and a sabhamandapa in east-west axis. There is a circumbulatory passage covering garbhagriha and antarala. At the outset and even from a distance it attracts our attention because of the presence of the prominent northern type sikhara. It is described as belonging to Rekha- Nagara type, a sub type of Nagara or north Indian variety of sikhara.
