Yes, it was murder. I cannot believe a real jury would return a verdict of not Guilty. The country in many places continues to go to HELL in a hand basket. I pray for the firefighters family and his fellow firefighter's. Justice was not served in his case.

I Agree Tony. I like the Supermax in Colorado too. Having attended the DOJ's National Institute of Correctional Academy in the 1990's. Boulder was their location and we were flown to Denver and driven to our hotel in Longmont where they had classrooms for us. Federal B.O.P. Warden's, State Correctional Chairmen, County Sheriff's and County, City Jail. Administrators all attended. We would attend for a week then go home and later on back for more subject matters.
Even went to San Francisco for course on Booking and running N.C.I.C. plus fingerprints and examing fingerprints taken.
During my 35+ years as a L.E.O. I had over 3,5000 hours in Law Enforcement Educational credits. I taught my staff and jail correctional officers covering what I had learned.
We had to deal with CRACK, HEROIN, METH, MARY JANE. My jail house both male and females.
I also operated inmate outside the fence work details. Correctional officer's would take their 40 to 45 inmates to clean retention ponds, cut grass on the state right of ways and planed trees in the city and when a property was being torn down they would cut and maintain properties. They work details would give two days credit for each day they worked. It save taxes payers money and it gave inmates the opportunity to work rather than get fat doing nothing. I still have voices see me downtown and they will yell "Hey Chief" thanks for .making me a trustee.
I was suided several times a year. The Chief Federal Judge always refered to me as "CHIEF". We never lost a case. A federal jury always found in favor of my staff following my Policies and Procedures. I was blessed with great staff and Correctional Officer's. Inmates always had respect for the officer's assigned to watch them. They also understood the sound of a 12 gauge being racked. I still miss my 12 to 16 hour days, not every day but many when extremely Hot or Cold days and nights. I was only supposed to work 8 but it showed Federal Jury member's I was serious. Our five solitary cells were mostly empty.
All Police Chiefs with a jail plus All County Sheriff's need to place new hires in the jail to work. It teaches them how to talk to people, it gives them the chance to meet subjects they may deal with on the street.
Biggest money saving comes from training both Road Patrol officer's and Correctional Officer's how to deescalate loud and serious subjects without having to tase, shoot with 12 gauge bean bags, or shoot their service weapon.
I miss working everyday. My "POST" Certification is still active at my age in the 80's. Never one complaint filed against me. Never losing a court case either.
I thank GOD for His Protection. We worked as one man cars with any backup 15 minutes or more minutes away. My Road Lt's were all veteran police Officer's and their one Sargent had years under his belt.
Long post, sorry for getting carried away. Most of my fellow Road Patrol deputies are all dead or in nursing homes. OORAH, OORAH L.E.O'S!

I too raised my right hand more than once to defend Our U.S. against all enemies foreign and domestic.
I was severely injured in AUGUST 1966. Spent time in the Portsmouth Naval Hospital in traction.
One thing to note is: Navy NURSE'S were officer's. Most that I saw carried a long handled metal spoon in their uniform front pocket. It was used on male's who's Johnson would stand erect. Something we just don't forget. OORAH, OORAH!
