You don’t have to be an administrator, grade level chair, or department head to be a leader in you school. Your title doesn’t matter. You just need to care about making it better.
Passion and commitment can transform any culture.
#ThoughtForTheDay I know many teachers & principals that do weekly &/or bi-weekly lunches w/students. But what if we were more intentional & devised a plan this yr where every staff member & student had that opportunity at least 2xs? A culture of connection. #Culturize Luncheons!
ThoughtForTheDay: One of the hardest parts about being a teacher is that every student concern & worry becomes yours, but there is no one to take care of your concerns. The same can be said of building & district leaders. Let's commit to taking care of one another. #Culturize
It has been said that, “Knowledge is power.” But in the age of Google, knowledge can be cheap. What is powerful… is the ability to create it, evaluate it, apply it, and collaborate with others to capitalize on it.
@casas_jimmy reading through your book today this stood out more than ever! The 3rs! Relationships, Relationships, Relationships! If we want to build a strong culture, we need to get to know our students and let students get to know us and get know each other! #Culturize
Children are autonomous learners - Thank you, @pfagell , for posting this! Turn Your Demanding Child Into a Productive Co-Worker https://t.co/PikxIFjqZC
Schools, If you aren't sure whether or not you should give assignments, quizzes or tests. Ask yourselves, does every child have equal access, opportunity, and support to do it. If not, then don't do it.
“Before you determine how to teach, consider what you must teach. Always keep in mind the essential and enduring knowledge that you’re trying to convey.” @rickwormeli2
AMEN... but let’s go a step further. All the states who award schools for 95% attendance as part of overall grades... behavior and academics in one grade Muddys the results. Not to mention... when people are sick and show up, they spread germs and can’t learn!
“Knowing our students on a more personal level is vital to creating a classroom culture where every child feels valued and understood; however, too often we stay near the surface treading water rather than diving deeper.

"We can’t meet higher standards of learning if classroom mgt is our primary focus. Successful instruction, which addresses students’ developmental & intellectual needs, is the highest form of classroom mgt. When Ss are actively engaged, they rarely create havoc." @rickwormeli2
There will be times that you invest yourself into a student who desperately needs you... and you get burned. Don’t be too discouraged. It happens to everyone. And do not be deterred in your commitment to making a difference. We are planting seeds. We don’t always see the harvest.
You don’t honor tradition by keeping things the same. You honor tradition by giving those who came before you something to be proud of... 😍👏🏻😍👏🏻 #thewylieway
"Relationships are at the center because this element is most important. Relationships carry more weight than others because without them as
the center of all we do, the other necessary elements are much harder to achieve." #InnovateInsideTheBox https://t.co/KMAGORqmRr
