QGI-REC hosted a free screening of the movie Hidden Figures @QFTBelfast which was open to all staff & students. The event was just one of the ways that we marked #RaceEqualityWeek24. Staff & students came along to enjoy the film, to network & of course enjoy the free popcorn! 🍿
Staff and students gather for an informal breakfast event this morning, hosted by the QGI-REC team, to mark #RaceEqualityWeek and profile some of the great work being undertaken @QUBelfast to advance #racialequity.
An honour to speak at the QUB 2024 Racial Equality Week breakfast this morning. As Chair of the All Party Group on Minority Ethnic Communities I spoke about my hope to pass the chair to an MLA with lived experience - we have work to do to make it possible by the next mandate.
Delirious to say that I passed my PhD viva yesterday with no corrections! Thank you so much to my two examiners for such a wonderful viva experience, and to my incredible supervisors @MaeveMccusker and @mondmilchfeuer. I’ve had the most phenomenal time working on this project ❤️
This week our #RacialEquityChampionsNetwork came together for an objective setting workshop run by Dr @Kate_Laverty. The interactive session was a great opportunity for champions to discuss & plan activities for the year ahead that will continue to drive racial equity across QUB.
