@maryannerodis Yes and no. February is one of the least likely months to get a tornado, but for the last few years we’ve had a string of deadly ones. They’re uncommon statistically but not necessarily abnormal. Technically tornadoes can form at any time given the right circumstances.

@mrslorijg @mikebettes Tornadoes happen when warm humid air combines with cold dry air, so temperature drops in the late afternoon when the ground has been heated cause the most tornadoes. Late afternoon is most common but it can happen anytime, they’re just less visible at night so more dangerous.
