“We opened our doors and ensured everyone's safety. Pero bakit ganoon? Ang kaisa-isang atleta namin na ipinagkatiwala sa inyo, hindi ninyo nagawang ingatan?”

GRETCHEN HO: SILENCE FUELS SPECULATION 🗣️
“As a former student-athlete of Ateneo, this tragedy hits very close to home. It is, deeply painful.
There are legitimate questions about what happened, and I trust that the multi-stakeholder body formed by the PSC, together with representatives from the UAAP, SBP, CHED, and NYC, will establish the facts and present them to the public at the appropriate time.
Understandably, people are still in a state of shock, and we should allow them this space to grieve and find their footing. However, silence will only allow speculation and false narratives to thrive. We trust that the institution we call home will do the right thing.”
- Gretchen Ho, Former Ateneo Lady Eagle
Take notes.
While some former Blue Eagles were busy defending their brotherhood and a lawyer was busy defending his alma mater, she’s one of the few people actually talking about the families and asking the questions that matter.
Two families lost their sons. Parents are living every parent’s worst nightmare. Yet some people’s first reaction was to protect a school’s image and defend a brotherhood.
That’s exactly what’s wrong.
Nobody was asking you to stop loving Ateneo. Nobody was asking you to abandon your school. People were asking for accountability. People were asking for answers.
The fact that some were more eager to defend institutions than stand with grieving families says more about them than it does about Ateneo.
the team building trip was authorized and sponsored by ateneo, hence the institution should be held accountable for the incident. before they were athletes, they were students whose safety should be ensured by them. ano bang mahirap intindihin doon?
Two college student athletes drowned. No one still knows the full circumstances of what happened. And yet ang dami sa inyo na ambibilis gumawa ng conclusion as to who should be held liable. Lumalabas yung pagiging hater ninyo ng Ateneo eh. Tapos gagamitin niyo pa for clout.
If you can't be sensitive enough to let the team and the community mourn this tragedy, just shut the fuck up.
Hi everyone! Glan, Malapatan, and other parts of Sarangani are not given enough media coverage yesterday and they badly need the same rescue if not more, this time. ☹️🙏🏻 (##)

yung nanay ng bata habang buhay dala dala yung pag-iisip na "sana hindi na lang niya pinayagan anak niya" edi kasama pa rin niya the thoughts of this talaga. like ang lala lang na may mag dedefend sa school hindi na inisip yung mga batang nawala at mga pamilyang naiwan. jusko po ganyan na ba kayo katalangka mag-isip these days just to defend a school? wala bang accountability dyan sa vocabulary niyo.
mapapa buntong hininga ka talaga sa mga ganyang opinion, kahit oaikutin mo yan kasalanan ng school yan. dinala nila mga players na new recruit galing sa mga kanya kanya nilang bahay to manila, thinking they can provide na sa family, not knowing na mas mapaahamak pa sila. stop defending the school jusko po. kahit ano ipasikot niyo bilog ang mundo. lala niyo it's not about sino ang may ganto ganyan, mga bata lang yan na may pangarap pero they need to do everything school wanted to do kasi they need it. like gets baaaaaa tehhh kahit grade 6 maiintindihan yan mahh.
