Being an solopreneur means dealing with stress.
Having ADHD as a solopreneur makes it even worse!
What helps is to create a smarter environment.
Less clutter => less cognitive load
=> less stress => more focus
Get rid of the endless tabs, notifications & lists.
@patricegorissen Sometimes you just have to give it a try and find out if it’s really for you.
Turning notifications off really is a game-changer!
I’ll gladly miss the noise if it means I can save my IQ.
My client was skeptical and refused to turn off his notifications.
"I don't mind, I'm not distracted", he said.
I knew that wasn't true. And not just because he has ADHD.
Research says your IQ can drop 10 points after a single notification. It's that distracting! 🤯
Drowning in your mailbox?
And no way to catch up with 5.378 messages in your Gmail Inbox, right?
Well, Gmail doesn't want you to know this, but you can mass delete your messages.
I've written a step-by-step guide for you.

When you're in a 9-5, your boss will tell you what to do and when to do it.
I call that 'external structure'.
Being a solopreneur means you're on your own.
No external structure. Hell, no structure at all!
Nothing to guide you and keep you on track.
Here's how to fix it.
Not finishing your tasks makes you feel like a failure, right?
But it's not you or your focus that is failing.
It's your judgment.
When you are time-blind, it's easy to make these mistakes.
The good news: You can train yourself to get better at this.
One of the things I love about TickTick is how I can schedule my tasks in my calendar.
Not just per day, but at a specific time.
Getting a reminder when a new task is due helps me to timebox.
I get easily distracted when I'm cooking up something new. 😅
What is your strategy?
At the end of a hectic week, a little reflection helps me to get back on the right track.
Fridays are my favorite time to ask myself questions:
'What went well?'
'What can I improve?'
Also, 'Am I still going in the right direction?'
And sometimes, the answers surprise me.
You all know the word ‘impasse’ right?
Yesterday, I learned that in France it literally means ‘dead end’!
It took us 3 wrong turns before we finally realized that the street name doubles as a traffic sign. 😂
Today, it reminds me how often we ignore the signs we receive.
The 3 strategies that saved me from burnout:
1. Prioritize Energy over Work - treat sleep deprivation as the emergency it is
2. Embrace Discomfort - learn to sit with the urge to check distractions
3. Change Your Environment - make good choices easier, bad choices harder
I loved working on the 50x Smarter Seminars content.
It feels like the stuff I've been doing at Curbn and the 50x Smarter Courses are finally coming together.
And I'm so looking forward to meeting and helping people online.

@courtneyruthw@Mozy_Mail 😃
For instance, to remind me to check out @Mozy_Mail. Or to remind me to answer your question.
Sometimes, I’m checking my socials in the fly and want some extra time to come up with a good reply -> to-do list.
@courtneyruthw@Mozy_Mail That sounds interesting!
I’ll put it on the list with apps to check out!
(Now I’d need an app that will grabs to-do’s from social media posts… 😂)
