@JohnnyGamblezz@KDPDXBurner@wydbanx bc they’re just using layman’s terms to describe what’s in the video. nobody cares what the official terminology is when everyone knows exactly what they mean
Thirteen years ago, my administration acted to protect young people who were American in every single way but one: on paper.
DACA was an example of how we can be a nation of immigrants and a nation of laws. And it’s an example worth remembering today, when families with similar backgrounds who just want to live, work, and support their communities, are being demonized and treated as enemies.
We can fix our broken immigration system while still recognizing our common humanity and treating each other with dignity and respect. In fact, it’s the only way we ever will.
@GrtBullsofFire i totally agree that there is hypocrisy among those at the top, but i still feel that is it disingenuous to use these minority instances of violence to characterize the greater population of those on the left
@insatiablevine “the left” as if it’s just a big hive mind lol. as if these 5 instances are the fault of every single person on the left. just think a little bit before posting next time :)
@CelesteLaverty@rocco_thfc i’ll always respect someone who has certain triggers from trauma, but it’s also important to understand that that fear/aversion is a result of personal experience and mental reprogramming, not a reaction to the bigger picture
@CelesteLaverty@rocco_thfc of course. having a fear from trauma is completely natural and valid, but i feel that some people in this position are trying to imply that their response is a rational one that should be shared by all women
@CelesteLaverty@rocco_thfc that makes total sense, i just feel like there’s a disagreement on what not taking a gamble on it entails. for many, it means not putting yourself in unsafe situations with unfamiliar men. for some others, they take it as completely avoiding/distancing from men altogether.
