Just because a person has a gorgeous heart & gentle nature doesn't mean they're naive or fragile. You never know what type of chaos it took for someone to become that calm. Don't mistake kindness for weakness...those ppl have survived the hardest battles—they're smart & strong af
Your soulmate is someone who's committed to working through things together and doesn’t see breaking up as an option. They’re willing to have difficult conversations and are dedicated to finding solutions that make you both feel loved, reassured, and respected in the relationship
february, massage my senses and stretch my perspective, water my doubts with love until it drowns out my fears. give me the courage to hold a mirror in front of my own self worth instead of other people’s reflections. may what i no longer have allow me to see myself more clearly.
your authentic self will scare many, confuse others and intimidate some, but it is not up to you to dull your essence and dim your light so you can be less visible to those that are unwilling to look at themselves.
I love people who communicate to make sure you understand instead of leaving you confused and hurt while you keep asking for clarification because they care about you and value their relationship with you.
Simply letting shit go, has got to go
Be with the multilayered emotions underlying a wound
Deal with them
Process them
Heal from them
Then when you’re ready & only when you’re ready, let them go
If you lack emotional intelligence we will never work out fr. I’m not teaching you how to apologize, how to take accountability, or how to treat me with respect. These are basic qualities you should already possess before entering a relationship.
Real intimacy goes beyond the physical. It’s someone exploring the depths of your mind & soul. It’s someone learning your story, what makes you tick, your likes/dislikes, why you are the way you are, live the way you live, & think the way you think. It’s someone learning your past so they can kiss your wounds & avoid hurting you in the way other people have. It’s someone knowing you deeply so you can be understood, accepted, & loved for all that you are & all that you’ve been. It’s different from the worldly love you’re used to—it’s a spiritual experience.
A note from a liberation psychologist:
Don’t allow people who dishonor you to define you.
Define yourself.
Reclaim, nourish, and love yourself.
Your ancestors hope you remember who you are.
You’re worthy. You always have been.
I'm starting to see why so many people struggle with love. More people are attached to their pride and ego than they are to building healthy long-lasting relationships. It doesn't matter who's in front of you if you don't fix whatever is going on inside of you that's causing you to ruin your every chance at real love. Healthy love exists. Honesty is a kindness. Transparency is the answer. Accountability is an act of love. Submission is the only way. Your trauma isn't an excuse. Vulnerability is unavoidable. Uncomfortable conversations are non-negotiable. Someone asking you to communicate better isn't a personal attack. Your toxic behaviours are not who you are. You aren't perfect. Mistakes are normal. Grace and forgiveness are necessary.
november, fill my cup with love, let it overflow into my intentions. pour into the parts of me that i emptied while filling other places, water the roots that i stopped nurturing while breathing life into other spaces, may i find ways back to myself to give back to everyone else.
