The Evangelical objections to the Parish Communion movement pre-1970 were fourfold:
1. It made communion a panacea for all spiritual ills, and thus was "a covert surrender to anglo-catholicism" (C. Buchanan)
2. It wasn't great for newcomers
3. Diminished the importance of preaching
4. Undermined the evening worship service.
i am very Anglo-Catholic in piety, i have an extremely high Mariology for an Anglican, but i still defend the Reformed heritage of the Anglican tradition because it’s an important and catholic part of our faith too
