Did you people know that just a few months ago, Onyema Okonkwo from Imo State raped and killed a 21-year-old nursing student, Wendy Achumba, because she refused to have sex with him?

For those who don’t understand Igbo, in the video he was confessing and narrating what happened. He said he sexually assaulted Wendy with his friend and killed her shortly afterwards.

I’m bringing this up because some people need to be reminded that femicide is prevalent in Nigeria. Women are not safe anywhere.

Don’t let anyone gaslight you into believing that you are somehow safe from male violence simply because of where you live, who you date, what tribe you belong to, or what choices you make.

Women can become victims at any time, anywhere.

Stop turning women’s deaths into tribal scorecards. The problem is male violence, and women deserve to be safe.

This is 15-year-old Khloe McDonel.
She should have been starting 10th grade this fall.
Instead, she was reported missing on July 18, 2026, and two days later her body was found at Sheppard Brothers Park in Jackson, Mississippi with shot in the head.
A grass-cutting crew discovered her.
The case is being investigated as a homicide. No arrests have been made.
RIP Khloe, she should still be here.
