Transgenderism must revert to being a form of private eccentricity. Recognition as one's preferred gender can be privately negotiated but with no coercion by any entity private or public. We all have an absolute right to affirm or not affirm, believe or not believe, that gender identity exists, that no one can infringe.

Sex segregated spaces and activities remain segregated by sex, not "gender identity."

Adults are free to inflict bodily self-harm on themselves in pursuit of an appearance they like but outside of any pretense of a medical protocol -- these are cosmetic procedures that come with no promises to relieve dysphoria or unlock an authentic self and the cost is borne solely by the person seeking them. Any such promises constitute consumer fraud. Children are of course unable to consent to such procedures.

The state has no role in affirming any aspect of cross-gender ideation, avoids proselytizing to children in schools or to anyone else in any interface it has with the public. The person who has inflicted bodily self-harm on his sex traits is no more a distinct class of person to whom special privileges or protections can be conferred than a person who has covered his face in tattoos. The person who believes with all his heart that he is a woman at heart and would die if others don't recognize him as such imposes no duty on any other person to share in that belief or to pretend to share in it. That person must develop resiliency about living in a pluralistic, liberal, democratic society where every person has a right to belief and a corollary right to unbelief that no one may legitimately infringe.

Any and all deviations from this resolution are morally illegitimate and practically untenable.

The attempt to turn a private eccentricity into a social cause that justified the remaking of society was a ghastly and destructive mistake. It was made inevitable by certain facets of the culture and certain aspects of our politics. We must learn the lesson that experience has now taught us.

My issue with the 'No Kings' protests is that Democrats had ample opportunity under the Biden administration to address the accumulated powers of the presidency and chose not to. Ever since Donald Trump first rode down the golden escalator, the Left has postured and protested and "spoken truth to power" against a man they believe is a fascist, a would-be dictator, a wannabe king, but never once have they accepted any responsibility for how the office of the President itself has been slowly unmoored from constitutional restraint over the last century, largely by direct progressive purpose and design, and not once, when given the opportunity, have they exercised any real effort to remove the threat of a wannabe king altogether by re-establishing the constitutional guard rails upon the Presidency itself.

For how much they claim Trump is an existential threat, they still want to wield the accumulated powers of an imperial presidency themselves and so they agitate against Trump and not against the fact that Trump would not be the threat that he is if the Presidency were properly checked and balanced.

Clearly, it's not that they don't want a King, it's that they don't want Trump as their king and would prefer another all-powerful wielder of the phone and pen.

This is false. There is no such study.

Only one study has ever assessed the direct association between using cross-sex hormones to treat gender dysphoria in youth and an independent, statistically significant difference in the suicide death rate.

The study, conducted in Finland and published a year ago, found no such association.

One would hope that someone with a platform as large as Lovett’s would read up on the science before making such a sweeping declaration to the contrary.

The biggest insight in George Orwell's 1984 was not about the role of surveillance in totalitarian regimes, but rather the primacy of language in shaping our sense of reality and our ability to act within it.

Language controls the realm of allowable thought. The constant reinforcement of wrong sex pronouns and the terms "transwoman" and "transman" degrade the integrity of sex categories and make people believe there is something "other" than men or women.

This is exactly why some people have begun to say "biological" in front of the terms man and woman, as if to distinguish that some men/women are "biological" and some are "man made." Just like wrong sex pronouns and trans as a modifier, the term "biological" as a modifier reinforces belief in transgenderism and degrades our sex recognition instincts.
