Moisture retention is a myth. If moisture is water and water evaporates, you can’t retain it. Soooo…. What can you do? You replace it. How do you replace it? Wash your hair. (1)
@DenRob123@michelle_byoung The original intention of the state of Oregon was to be a whites only state. What they did to the indigenous tribes in order to make it so (unsuccessfully, I might add) was deplorable.
@SwizTweets@michelle_byoung I have personal Burbank and Glendale stories right into the early 2000s. They were no longer Sundown but, definitely unwelcoming to my and other black folk.

When someone tells me it takes all day (sometimes longer) to do their natural hair, I worry about their well being. Seriously, what do you all need? Because what ever is happening in these natural hair streets is wearing on me.
@KimmyDiva89 @monarchcurl Interesting…. That’s exactly what I do with my natural hair. Tie it down at night and get up and go in the morning. Wash, rinse, repeat.
I was getting coffee with my daughter this morning. A white woman saw us, came over to us and said, “ohhhh, whose child did you steal.” I laughed and said, “only white people can steal other people’s kids and act like they’re theirs.” She grabbed her coffee and left.
