The ancient Egyptians prized high-grade frankincense called *‘ntyw* (imported from Punt). Botanist F. Nigel Hepper (JEA 1969) identified it as *Boswellia frereana*, native to coastal hills of Somaliland/northern Somalia. Resins matching *B. frereana* and *B. carteri* were found in royal tombs; lower-grade *sntr* often came from *B. papyrifera*.

This will never change until all or majority of Somalis stop identifying as black. Unless Somalis and other Horners Detach themselves from the black label they’ll forever be seen as black/Bantu/West African. That’s what that label does.
