Time is up for California

We gave California 48 hours to review and flag more than 20,000 noncitizen voters recently mailed live ballots.

California refused.

This morning we filed a federal court action seeking an emergency order requiring California to sequester ballots returned by suspected noncitizens.

This is not political or controversial. 18 U.S.C. § 611 makes it a federal offense for noncitizens to vote in a federal election. We will not allow California to dilute the votes of American citizens.

Slide #1 sent to me today. I have so many of these messages talking about how horrific the staffing levels are. Slide number two is Luna feeding @ktla5news a bunch of bullshit lies and they’re just sitting there and taking it. Slide #3 is Assistant Sheriff Jason Skeen addressing the COC in May 2025 as to the severe staffing shortage and even the COC was in shock. A year later it’s so much worse.

The Current Report received information from multiple LASD sources alleging that captains are receiving additional bonus compensation for keeping overtime down at their units of assignment.

One source described it this way: “LASD is being operated like a retail business, where management is financially rewarded for keeping employee hours down.”

LASD is experiencing a historic personnel crisis, and this new information raises serious questions, particularly as LASD continues to struggle with staffing shortages, forced overtime, employee burnout and the ability to maintain adequate patrol staffing.

This looks more like incentivizing “cooking the books” to make the most disastrous four years under current Sheriff Robert Luna look a little less devastating for a department that is down 30% of its personnel and operating on skeleton crews.

FOUR YEARS LATER… and LASD is still operating without a fully deployed replacement CAD system.

When @AlexVilanueva33 left office, one of his clearest warnings was that replacing LASD’s decades-old Computer-Aided Dispatch system had to be a top priority.

He wasn’t exaggerating. In September 2022, LASD warned the Board of Supervisors that the aging CAD system had reached a “perilous state,” lacked manufacturer support and could potentially suffer a failure that would have serious consequences for public safety.

Four years later, the replacement still has not been fully deployed department-wide.

The County says a new CAD system is now under contract, with modernization, construction and testing underway. But we are approaching another election after an entire four-year term — and deputies and dispatchers are still waiting for the completed system.

ALADS would like you to believe Sheriff Robert Luna’s relationship with the Board of Supervisors is one of his greatest strengths.

So here’s the question:

If that relationship is so effective, why did it take nearly an entire term to get LASD’s most critical communications infrastructure to the implementation stage — after the Department was already warning in 2022 that the existing system was in danger of catastrophic failure?

This isn’t a new problem. LASD sounded the alarm four years ago.

Thank you for posting this! I have been saying that I thought 2018 was likely the last *somewhat* fair election turn out we had. It was very curious how then-Sheriff Jim McDonnell didn’t show up for debates pretty much thinking he had it in the bag and then, surprise! Alex Villanueva squeaked by and beat his ass. Next election they tighten that shit up and it’s been downhill ever since we have not had a truly fair election since then. Since 2020, they all been blatantly stolen by the Democrats.
