So I did some looking...as expected mainstream Egyptologists dismissing it as speculation...
However, specific details about who exactly dug out the sand are not provided in the available information I have seen.
This is what typically is found...that, the sand covering the shafts and potential second Sphinx was "likely" excavated by researchers and archaeologists during "various" exploration efforts at the Giza Plateau.
If it was all covered in sand till 2017 as suggested...who removed all the sand inside all these shafts & tunnels...???

There is one brief that seems to have stood out and maybe not for the reasons some may suspect...the amicus brief of the American Bar Association.

The ABA filed its “friend of the court” brief to argue a direct wording point...that anyone who gives birth on US soi...even if here illegally or even if only briefly here...may claim U.S. citizenship for their child.

The debate comes down to six (6) words...“and subject to the jurisdiction thereof.” Note that these words were not in the original draft, but were inserted by an amendment...thus the language was an intentional condition.

One small point...only around 24.4% of lawyers are actually members in the ABA...
