STEM Saturdays @ The Cooper Union was all about innovation in action!

In Mechanics and Electronics for Emergency Response, students explored ultrasonic sensors, learned about physicist Paul Langevin’s contributions to sonar tech, and coded their own SONAR systems in C++. 💻🌊

Summer STEM closed with an inspiring final showcase, where students presented their projects to a panel of Maroon and Gold judges. From bold ideas to impressive execution, they showed just how much can be achieved in a few short weeks. We're so proud of their growth! #SummerSTEM

Summer STEM student pitched their ideas, debated CRISPR ethics, built prototypes, folded origami dodecahedrons, and 3D printed components. Between coding, poster-making, and refining presentations, every class pushed closer to showcase-ready projects. #STEMatCooperinNYC #Engineer

Today, students tackled bridge-building sprints, prototyped with 3D printers and laser cutters, explored the High Line’s sustainable design, coded low-level drivers, and experimented with lattices, tessellations, and metamaterials. #STEMatCooperinNYC

Summer STEM students made major progress on their final projects across all classes. They practiced elevator pitches, analyzed audio with FFTs, 3D printed custom keychains, and mixed concrete for their model homes. Creativity and problem-solving were in full effect. #STEMatCooper

Students poured concrete for foam houses, explored robotic sound design after learning about Zimoun, and mapped NYC’s subway from memory. They simulated wave patterns on a Chladni plate and committed their code to Git. It was a full day of hands-on learning! #STEMatCooperinNYC

Today, students prototyped with cardboard, modeled neural networks in Python, pitched immersive installation ideas, visualized data with maps, coded I2C drivers, and generated spiral patterns using complex numbers. Each project moved one step closer to reality. #STEMatCooperinNYC
