I never thought I’d see the day when I’d have to walk away from ONE OK ROCK.

But here we are.

I’ve loved this band for so long. Their music has been a part of my life, and I genuinely never imagined myself being anything other than their fan.

But seeing Taka’s recent Instagram stories defending Ed Sheeran amid everything happening in Palestine honestly broke my heart.

And the saddest part? I’m disappointed, but I’m not surprised.

I guess a part of me had already made room for this disappointment. For the longest time, I’ve been waiting for a clearer stance from Taka and OOR.

I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt because I loved them that much.

But I can’t keep doing that anymore.

What’s happening in Palestine is not just another war to me. It’s a genocide. And I cannot simply look past that because I love someone’s music.

I know losing one fan like me won’t make much of a difference to them.

But it makes a difference to me.

Because at the end of the day, I would rather stand by my humanity than continue supporting someone just because I’ve loved them for years.

And God, it hurts to even write this.

I’m not even angry anymore. I’m just deeply disappointed. So disappointed that I honestly don’t know how to put everything I’m feeling into words.

I never wanted to stop being your fan.

But I guess this is where I draw the line.

Take your time. I’m taking mine too.

Maybe someday, when things become clearer, I’ll find my way back to your music.

But until then, I’m stepping away.

1. They are killing innocent people who have no way to defend themselves. Even war has rules and ethics. But what they are doing is a brutal attempt to wipe out an ethnic. That is called genocide dude
