The pressure in sales can be overwhelming. Targets don't stop. Customer demands don't stop. The expectations keep increasing.

For a woman, it can be even more demanding when she has to combine that pressure with raising children and managing responsibilities at home.

I can imagine the pressure in running around to meet target and also coming back home to face a different kind of pressure. Not everyone have the mental strength to do this job and still remain sane without breaking down.

This is why as a husband you should ensure your income is well enough to carry your home. See whatever contribution your spouse brings as a support to the home.

Your wife may decide at some point that she no longer wants the daily pressure of sales and would rather focus on the home and family.

The truth is that carrying the mental load of work, marriage, motherhood, and home management at the same time can be exhausting.

1. Before you screenshot a WhatsApp conversation as evidence, delete or unsave the contact first so that the number shows and not the name. It carries more weight that way.

2. If you inherit land or property alongside a sibling and your portions share the same space, fence out your own immediately. Do not assume your brother cannot betray you. Blood does not cancel greed.

3. Save every important document on Google Drive or any cloud storage. WAEC results, birth certificate, property documents, everything. The day your house gets flooded or robbed, you will be grateful.

4. Set up a separate phone number strictly for online transactions and registrations. Keep your main number private. It reduces spam, fraud attempts and SIM swap risks significantly.

5. Always have a separate emergency account that you do not touch. Not a savings account, a dedicated emergency fund. Job loss, hospital bills and sudden expenses will always come. Be ready.

6. When buying land in Nigeria, do not just collect documents. Visit the land registry yourself and verify. Many people have bought land that was sold to five different people at the same time.

9. Never tell anyone your exact salary. Not your friends, not your colleagues, not even some family members. The moment people know what you earn, they begin to calculate what you should be doing for them.

10. When you enter a new environment, a church, a market, a gathering, identify the exits first. It is a habit that could save your life one day.

11. Learn basic first aid. Know how to handle a choking emergency, a deep cut or a seizure. One day it will not be for a stranger. It will be for someone you love.

12. Always screenshot or record any important agreement made on WhatsApp or any platform before the other person deletes it. Evidence disappears fast.

Yesterday, my wife and I visited a venue for a big event she is planning and decorating for a High Chief in Egbaland.

She was full of energy as we entered the hall. But the moment she stepped in, her countenance changed. She walked towards the front and suddenly froze for like 2mins.

From where I was standing, on a call, I noticed she was completely still, which is unusual for her when she is in work mode. So I walked up to her. The moment I looked at her face, I saw tears rolling down her cheeks with her lips moving in a prayerful pattern. I asked her, “what is wrong.”

She looked at me and said, “Jack, 12 years ago, I was inside this same hall as a server, packing and washing plates. Today, I am the event planner, and everyone here is answering to me.”

I tried to hold back my own tears as I hugged her tightly to calm her down. But even while typing this tweet, I can still feel myself getting emotional.

See, life truly does get better if you keep grinding. Don’t let your starting point hold you back.
