Haven’t stripped the OS entirely but was able to replace the Samsung Live TV default app with this gallery one that cycles through high quality scans of some art I like. Now every time you turn on the TV or exit an app it will open this. Will keep expanding on this over the next few days
My Samsung TV has gotten really slow and buggy and borderline unusable. Yesterday, I used Codex to trim out some of the fat and disable viewing tracking with temporary root access.
Available RAM rose about 23% and my TV is actually enjoyable to use again
Next I think I’ll strip it completely and give it a clean custom home screen and beautiful art when it’s idle, since it already takes up so much of my bedroom wall.

@AiKreyol I saved a recovery backup of the changes on my Mac in case anything like that happens. Might end up going another route as I work on this some more
Root access was temporary, but the changes it made were saved on the TV. After full reboots, I verified the app-disable flags persisted, the ACR viewing-recognition service stayed disabled, and the advertising daemon stayed stopped. No need to rerun Codex or keep my computer connected.
Samsung did restore some initially uninstalled apps, so I switched those to disabling, which survived subsequent reboots. I’ve verified full restarts; I haven’t separately verified an unplug from wall test. Firmware updates or a factory reset could undo the changes.
