People with CPTSD may need a LOT of sleep. A big part of healing can involve giving yourself permission to rest. You’ve been through a lot. Your body and mind have carried so much, and you have to let them recover. Even before you start addressing your wounds, you may need to simply sleep.

CPTSD healing also means not shaming yourself for things your body can’t do yet. If you don’t have the energy, that’s okay. Give yourself grace, patience, and time.

CPTSD still isn’t recognized as a separate diagnosis in the DSM-5.

The difference between standard treatment and CPTSD-focused recovery gave me my life back. I experienced more healing in 4 years than I did in the 20 years before.

CSA, CSAM, grooming, trafficking, war crimes used as regular discipline, adult SA, unthinkable violence and being treated specifically for CPTSD changed my life in every way.

We need a separate diagnosis. We need dedicated research and specialized care.
