Remember in early seasons of Barry when you’d watch and be like “wow this is some of the best directed tv I’ve seen in years” and every time when it ended you saw DIRECTED BY HIRO MURAI that’s why you should watch Widow’s Bay
Actual queer ppl will not mock one another for their queer mannerism like that. The shared horror of having to suppressing to fit hetero tropes growing up, on multiple occasions H have unintentionally displayed how foreign this concept is to him. fratboy in you is lurking out.
Everyone here knows that when someone tries too hard to seem cool and like the “different one” in the room without having the backbone to back it up, they end up becoming a joke and getting hate. So the comments about Hudson at the Met Gala and the after party shouldn’t come as a surprise. At the Met Gala, his team built up all this suspense just for him to show up looking like a mess, and at the after party they put him in a diaper just so his fans would post things like “wow, he’s so gay,” “gay icon,” “proving he’s gay.” I’m already tired of talking about how Hudson keeps feeding this narrative without actually being it, and this Met Gala was the biggest proof of that. +
If you just realized Joe Rogan is a controlled op pussy because of his podcast with Theo Von - welcome to 10 years ago when he pulled this same shit with his “friend” Eddie Bravo.
Chappell Roan seems to be making two different points, one of them right and one of them wrong, and conflating the two.
The first is that she shouldn't be harassed, stalked, have her privacy invaded, have the right to say "no" when asked for a selfie, etc., and she's correct on all of that.
But the second is that she's entitled to treat global fame as an on/off switch. She should be able to be globally famous when she wants but also anonymous when she wants.
She wants to be recognized as an artistic icon when she's walking down the street, and she also wants everyone else to pretend they don't recognize her when she's walking down the street.
She wants the notoriety and all the cool shit that comes with being globally admired, which is perfectly valid, but she also wants to walk into any public space and expect that fans won't come up and ask for a selfie.
There are countless artists who produce widely admired art and don't seek out global fame. They love creating art that other people enjoy and they want more people to enjoy it but they also don't leverage huge PR resources to push that art. They don't go out of their way to be recognized.
Chappell Roan does leverage PR. She wants screen time. She wants good publicity. She wants to be recognized as a celebrity on sight. That's all fine. Nothing wrong with that.
But she also wants her fans to adore her public presence while pretending she doesn't exist when she's right in front of them in a public space, which is very odd and unreasonable.
And it's silly as hell to conflate that very unreasonable demand--that fans should read her mind and shouldn't walk up in public and ask for a selfie--with her correct point that she shouldn't have her privacy violated or be harassed.
She should be able to turn down taking a selfie, no doubt, but wanting her fans to not ask for a selfie in the first place when her career hinges on public adoration?
C'mon, Chappell. You know that doesn't make any sense.
They for sure gonna move the Scott speech to the end. Shane's injury and ilya's dad will be the main reasons both characters realise what they are for each other and decided to pursue their desire and needs. leads to the cottage plot. It works better this way. In Jacob we trust.
