It’s been a min since I’ve written anything to be published, so this was fun. "Christians mustn’t see the church as tangential to the spiritual growth of the next generation but as central to it." https://t.co/TlUeCLh7CH
Even though you might do acts of greed, as a Christian you aren’t greedy at your core and you aren’t comfortable with it. You’re actually fighting it. So be encouraged. You’re saved and being saved. Progress not perfection 4/4
Can you still be a Christian and sin a lot? People often ask me some version of this question. And warning passages like Ephesians 5:5 scare people. But you have to understand that we are both saved and being saved 1/4
We still have a lot of growing to do. We sin a lot. Over time, God starts to change us bit by bit as we pursue him. The key is progress. Passages like Ephesians 5:5 describe ppl at their core and comfort 3/4
There is no such thing as being good enough to be a Christian because Jesus was good enough on your behalf. There are no qualifications and no resume needed. Jesus just says “Come to me.”
Get this book, read it, purchase one for every young person you know. Then purchase ten additional copies and give them away.
Excellent resource @cvchavis.
Was honored to speak alongside these giants at HBCU Link this year. HBCU campus ministers are serious about using their ministries to address the crisis of young men in the US(my topic). They should receive priority funding of all college ministries because of it! Extraordinary!
@drantbradley We were honored to have you! You tore the house down. We all walked away equipped, inspired, and challenged for the task of building up men for Christ. Preciate you, doc.
We need busyness to failure-proof our lives, but Jesus has died to cover the failures that will certainly happen
We need busyness to “save” our orgs and programs from mediocrity, but there is only one savior in heaven and on earth
Will you give your busyness to Jesus?
“Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season and harvest you must rest.” Exodus 34:21
God commands the Israelites to rest, even during plowing and harvesting!
We need to busyness to prove ourselves, but he’s freed you from justifying your existence by justifying you in Christ
We need busyness to avoid being invisible, but God sees you in Christ
We need busyness to feel strong, but God has given you the freedom to be weak in Christ
Really enjoyed this episode of @guiltgracepod with Cyril Chavis (who recently taught for us at @RTSWashington). Definitely a must listen.
