From what I understand, Luther and Calvin both commented on the Genesis 9 story, but neither taught a racial curse of Ham against other ethnicities.
They stuck to the text: Noah curses Canaan specifically for his father’s sin, and they saw it as a prophecy of the Canaanites’ later subjugation by Israel, not a blanket judgment on Ham’s descendants or any skin color or modern ethnicity.
The idea of linking it to Africans or slavery came much later, in the 15th–19th centuries.
