CVET has moved to “on alert” status and is at the ready to provide veterinary assistance via coordination or clinical care. We meet daily with the organizations actively involved at each of the region’s 16 animal shelters, offering veterinary assistance and advice where needed.

We have a newly updated Vital Signs Guide for a range of species! CVET has developed various species-specific guidance documents with the support of local practitioners and @ucdavisvetmed's VMTH to assist in the training and education of animal responders.

Our team has provided #veterinary services at both the small and large animal shelters and operationally has run over 50 veterinary requests, as well as deployed two veterinary trailers that are serving as clinical spaces at the small and large shelters.

CVET has been deployed in response to the #ParkFire since Thursday July 25. Since the fire started, Butte County and animal volunteers have cared for 164 large and small animals in designated disaster animal shelters.

With #wildfire season officially upon us, we are a state resource ready to mobilize should local #veterinary capacity be exhausted or overwhelmed.
