Have you or someone you know been affected by CVI not being recognised as a visual impairment, in sports or other areas? Email [email protected] to share your experience.
1/3 🧵 Interesting blog from CVI Scotland @scotlandcvi about CVI not being recognised in para sports—featuring an account of how Janina processes vision. Should CVI be classified as a visual impairment in sport? Read more: https://t.co/X2ewXOr8Iy
2/3 The way Janina’s vision is described is similar to the visual experiences shown in this video. Imagine competing with this vision—and it not being recognised as a disadvantage. Watch here: https://t.co/OMofZ5DIhg

Difficulties for children affected by CVI in mainstream schools can be considerable, affecting not just learning but friendships and mental health.
Identifying support is crucial.
Great to see one of our videos helped here @scotlandcvi .
Support in school for a child with CVI requires careful planning, to ensure the needs of the child, as far as possible, can work with the needs of their classes & school, for max inclusion.
Example here, mainstream school academically able child with CVI👇
