@_AlFerg@_JordanDecker Those three RFAs should come in under $10 mill, unless the team does something long term and buys a bunch of UFA years to bump up the cap hit.
@ByronMBader@_JordanDecker They need RHD in Laval that could be called up.
One year of Walsh to fill the gap and see what he’s got, then add Konyushkov the following year.
@JFreshHockey Looks like he's lacking strength and playing hurt... and tentative about getting more hurt. Plays more threatened than threatening.
Teams would have to look into his health history and feel comfortable about it. Knee tendinitis and wrist issues seem to stand out in his play.
There's a universe where the Habs won the Bedard lottery and he is healthy and happy on one of the best young teams in the league, while the Blackhawks continue to strip down and rebuild from scratch instead of desperately clawing to stay relevant.
Best for both, I say.
The International Ice Hockey Federation (@IIHFHockey) has reversed a previous decision to ban Russia from all 2026-27 competitions and will now make a decision on Russia's eligibility in future IIHF tournaments on an "event-by-event basis."
A timely remember of what the Canadiens' cap structure looks like with Demidov, Hutson, Suzuki, Caufield, Slakfovsky, and Dobson all locked up.
In 2031, they'll all be signed for the equivalent of $38M under last year's cap - avg of $6.3M equivalent per player.
@elicooperpoop@BaillargeCarter Saw some highlights of Mooney where it showed who made a few of the plays that I missed… and it was him. (Maybe I couldn’t see him, haha.)
So he definitely deserves more props today. Still a tough path forward.
@gb_nadeau@KarineHains Saw that. Not sure it’s best route for him right away. But hoping it works out. If he turns into a Ryan Poehling (another St. Cloud boy) that wouldn’t be too shabby.
Notes #2:
Zharovsky showed elements I didn't know he had: 1st step bursts into space, physicality, and a knack for stick lifts that will turn a lot of pucks over.
Runtso and Klimpke are super mobile. The 4 inch difference between them makes the pro climb much easier for Runtso.
Notes #1:
Trottier is a dog. Good frame, motor and some surprising skills. Expecting a big year in Regina.
Cleaves glides nicely around the ice. Showed some surprising hands.
Wassilyn was the only undrafted invite that showed much for me. Was in and around the play a lot.
@Fake_CH_Facts@HadiK_Scouting Love the tools and I'm a bigger believer than most. Not sure NCAA is the best move for him for the coming season. Hope it pans out.
@Fake_CH_Facts@HadiK_Scouting Sunk Logan Couture to the Sharks in his draft year.
Really hoping he goes above PPG in the WHL this year. It would take a big jump, but feels like a necessary one historically to show an NHL future.
