Yukon First Nations have a new climate plan — and it was written by young people.
“If we continue to focus on climate actions built from the same worldview that created the climate crisis, we cannot expect society to change."

Lots to reflect and appreciate from #GLOBExChange and the cross section and opportunity of bringing Indigenous ways into climate space. Proud as always of the YFN Climate Fellows, Nika, Ryan and Shauna @geehaadastee in sharing our Reconnection Vision. Feeling grateful ❤️
Yukon First Nations Climate Action Fellows spoke at #GLOBExCHANGE. Shauna, Nika, Ryan, and Research Chair in Indigenous Knowledge, Jocelyn Joe-Strack, shared their experience creating the Yukon First Nations Climate Vision and Action Plan.

Following their presentation, the Climate Fellows were encircled by Elders and Leaders, and then by their families and community, to be acknowledged as graduates and young leaders. #TTFOCT50#LeadingTheNorth#ClimateAction@auntyjocey @CYFN_GrandChief @MastercardFdn
People like to say that the US and Canada aren’t racist but both countries have been practicing forcible sterilization of Indigenous & Black women against their will for decades. Forcible sterilization is STILL happening present day.
🌟 Last Thursday, the Yukon First Nation Climate Action Fellowship won the Youth Notable Innovators Award at the @yukonstruct Hall of #Innovators Awards for #YukonInnovationWeek2022!
👏🏽 The evening celebrated the countless people working on #innovation and #transformation in YT!
But then as I decided to take care of the plant, I saw the future again but this time the plant and all the life around me was so green and everything was blooming and beautiful and thriving.🌎☀️🌲🌳
(1/?) I'm in ICA's Climate Leadership Program this weekend and today was asked "What does your climate intuition tell you about the future?"
Earlier this year at one of our Fellowship gatherings, I had this dream and this question made me think of it:
I had this lady come up to me and hand me a plant, she told me I needed to choose what to do with it. The first choice was to not take care of the plant. As I thought about that, I saw into the future and the plant and all the life around me died.
