Just like politicians are always seeking to deliver the one line that gets them media coverage, though, the pundits behind the desks are looking to land the hot take that launches their careers to new heights.

We’ve got about 60 days to figure out to better communicate the true risks of Trump’s whims and awful designs.

@SlauHaus @BucksCoBeacon I thought that the first time he beat us. But he's done in twice against two candidates who we believed, at the time, were incredibly well qualified. And I'm mad at myself for going with that narrative eight years ago.

I canvassed for Harris. I hosted GOTV launches. I made calls, filled out post cards, and everything else. I absolutely hate that Donald Trump won. To me, today, the most important thing is to accept the reality that our party and our messages are not connecting with voters. My focus is finding a way to change that and earning back the trust of voters.

You're right. I can't understand why more than half this country voted for a man who I genuinely believe isn't even fit to scrub the floors of the White House, let alone sit behind the Resolute desk. But the fact that I can't understand it is a major part of the problem. It's a big part of why we lost, even with the largest, most co-ordinated ground game to ever occur in American politics.

We HAVE to understand it. Or not only will we never win the White House again, we won't deserve to win it. Voters don't trust us or our candidates on issues of national importance. They trust a man who is closer to facism than to freedom, closer to dictators than democracies, whose vision for America is bleak and who was willing to allow others to subvert our democratic processes to secure his own power.

This is NOT a problem with voters. It's a problem with our party. We don't deserve any single vote from any single voter. We have to earn each and every one of them. Every election. For every office. And we aren't doing that. It's time to stop fleeing to "blue walls" and bastion cities to drive turn out and it's time to start earning back the trust of the electorate.

We have twice lost to one of the most beatable Presidential Candidates of my lifetime. Anyone blaming the voters just isn't getting the message they're sending us. Voters don't vote for the wrong candidate, they vote against candidates and parties they don't trust.
