@TalkSoccer Yup.. Quality of opponent was big factor but too many individual players stunk the joint out. Dest, Robinson and Ream in particular were horrific
Good run. Terrible performance tonight. Too many key players were terrible. McKinney, Pulisic, Dest, Ream and Robinson were simply terrible. Can't have those mistakes and expect to advance. Harsh lesson to learn. It was fun though
@YesThatBrooke Agree 100%.. I will add that this particular group is in uncharted waters and tonight was not especially surprising. Don't think the first team D would have given up 3 tonight and i'll leave it at that. Berhalter was a beast tonight, the only real shining light to be honest
@YesThatBrooke@GrantPaulsen Bullpen gave up 5 runs with two outs... pathetic and ultimately their doom unless the cheap ownership goes out and buys some veteran bullpen arms (which they won;t)
@YesThatBrooke I'm with you Brooke (not Randy Ruff though :)) - i think most of this stems from the political leanings of Lalas and his detractors simply can't separate their political hostility towards Lalas from the actual soccer analysis he imparts. I have no issues with his analysis.
#uswnt US wins 1-0 in Brazil. Disgraceful and classless performance from Brazil. 4 coaches see red, ultimately 4 players see red (two after the final whistle) - Brazil's tactics are disgraceful and flies in the face of the Beautiful game.
@HeySpirits Welp... Another final, another loss. Not liking this trend. Plenty of blame to go around. Another goalie blunder and Rudd also gets on the list with her idiotic giveaway in extra time. Time to stop tapdancing around these mistakes and start piling on some criticism
#DCU 4-4 final. Full credit to Montreal. A night Bartlett would like to forget. Worst single defensive performance from DCU player in a long time. Just could not track Owusu all night long. 2 points from 3 winnable home games. The putrid home form continues thru the WC break
#DCU Cruising 2-0 until Bartlett's incredible brainfart brings Montreal back into a match they were decidedly behind. I fathom to think of what Bartlett was thinking in that situation. Boggles the mind that professionals can make such stupid and ill-timed mistakes.
@davejsports@brucemurrayHOF#DCU DCU need to stop playing conservatively and push the pace tonight against Montreal. Too many times recently at Audi DCU have been reactive and too passive leading to a lot of bad results at Audi. Need to get 3 tonight ahead of long MLS break
@SqTblSportsMike@WashSpirit@ConcacafW Agree 100% - lost count of unpressured turnovers, particularly from Rudd who would simply pass straight to the opponent or out of bounds. Touch and tempo on all her passes was severely off. How does that happen at that level? @HeySpirits
The headline from Nats loss tonight will obviously by the 10 runs given up on the top of the 12th. However the game was lost with 4 errors (worst defensive team in baseball) and left 156 runners on base. Had MULTIPLE opportunities to move runners along or just get a sac fly.
