In response to God’s call to serve those in need, these faithful Lutherans formed a small organization called Concordia Welfare & Education Society (CWES) and began to raise money to fund projects in Yunnan Province.

In the 1990s — through connections in China’s Yunnan Province — a small group of Lutheran Christians learned that  many families in Yunnan struggled to afford education for their children, and people often grew ill because of unsafe drinking water and sanitation conditions.

20 years ago this month, CWEF was officially formed in Hong Kong.

However, the mission started long before that document was signed and sealed.

We are thrilled to congratulate Titus on earning his Nursing degree from Kampot Regional Nursing School! We are proud of his commitment and honored to support his goal of impacting healthcare in his community. Titus now works full-time at a pediatric hospital.😀

Sixth-grade students in Kunming, China, face stress while transitioning to junior high school. At two schools, trained facilitators guided 100+ students in recognizing and managing stress. CWEF partners with these trainers to offer mental health trainings like this.

Congratulations to Sreynith, a CWEF scholarship recipient, on graduating with a degree in Business Management! 🥳 We are so proud of all her hard work these past four years. She will be taking on a teaching role, assisting students who require additional support. #education
