Correct me if I’m wrong, but if Biden is guilty of all these things Republicans have stated above isn’t he only guilty of lying while NOT under oath? Isn’t that exactly what Donald Trump did for 4 straight years?

Let us remember how we actually got here:

Republicans had no issue raising the debt ceiling 3 times under Trump, with no conditions.

McCarthy himself said during that time that raising the debt ceiling is to pay for existing debt, which is true.

Now that McCarthy is controlled by the radical right, he has completely flip-flopped on his ideals and is holding the country hostage.

It doesn't matter how much of that debt was from Trump, or how much was from other Republican Presidents.

It doesn't matter that the debt ceiling is different from the budget.

It doesn't matter that the radical right wants to cut programs that help the needy, the hungry, the children, the veterans, and families.

It doesn't matter that he is risking a recession and American jobs.

All that matters is him holding onto the title of Speaker of the House, no matter the cost to the nation.
