SMU @SMUFB commit @cwill_86 was back in Eau Claire, WI chasing perfection!
Cody has made multiple trips recently to continue refining his craft as he prepares to report to SMU in the coming weeks. Big changes don’t happen overnight, and Cody has been fully bought into the process every step of the way.
With each visit, he’s gained a better understanding of both the movement and the “why” behind it. The more you understand the technique, the easier snapping becomes. It doesn’t work the other way around. A lack of understanding doesn’t make you think less, it usually creates more hesitation, more inconsistency, and more struggle.
During these sessions, Cody really started locking in his body control and had some major breakthroughs with sequencing and flow. When the body moves efficiently and in sync, everything starts to clean up naturally.
Looking forward to continuing to help Cody chase perfection!

SMU @SMUFB commit @cwill_86 made the trip to Eau Claire WI to chase perfection!
Cody will be reporting to SMU soon and wanted to make sure he’s ready to perform at a high level.
When we first connected, Cody felt good about his snapping, but like a lot of guys, he wasn’t fully aware of what was holding him back. It’s hard to know what you don’t know.
We got started weeks ago virtually to build a foundation before he came up for a deeper dive.
Early on, we saw that Cody was trying to initiate the snap aggressively and pull the ball. That led to him hopping as he threw, which killed his consistency and limited his ball speed.
We shifted the focus to a more gradual start. Getting the body set first allowed everything to sequence the right way.
Once he felt that control, everything cleaned up. The movement flowed, the ball came out easier, and he was able to throw a faster, more consistent ball without forcing it.
That’s the difference between chasing a result and building a skill.
Cody put in the work. Excited to see him go compete at SMU.
Keep chasing perfection. Go unnoticed.
