Pregnancy is living in the liminal space between life + death. Birth is shadow work.
The Mother is primordial, in the shit, syphoning purity from blood and muck and fluid from the darkest shadows of pain + existence.
My doula looked me in the eye today and said, “I will hold your hand and guide you to travel through the dark place, but only you will push through the veil.”
Fraud is typically associated with Neptune, but this Uranus-Taurus shift seems to be stirring up some nasty telemarketing scams.
Cryptocurrency upticks seemed obvious with this transit — but I hadn’t considered tech-based moneygrab scams...
I've got my finger on the "send" button of a pitch / submission email to a new publication for the first time in a year and I'm kind of freaking myself out?
The Mother archetype is one of nurturance + protection, making calls on what’s most healthy + nourishing. 🐛🌱🦋 You can embody + honor this cycle without ever being a parent; you can be your own Mother.
For the first time in my life today I had to buy a tube of Preparation H. If this isn’t a reason to at least get your mom / mom-figure / baby momma flowers + a nice card (if you share a healthy, non-toxic relationship, of course) then idk WHAT is. #motherhood#radicalsacrifice
@ChristynaMills Also I think the conversation around motherhood is so disappointing because no one bothers to listen in a meaningful way, so we get the same narratives over and over. E.g., “this is gross, horrible” to “such magic!” Both are boring and offer a fraction of a holistic reality.
I know fewer creatives + influencers who are open about also being mothers than I do sex workers, a marginalized group of shadow-workers with an honest stake in being judged in life-altering ways by society + CPS. Why? Is it a concern of privacy or something else?
@ChristynaMills Thanks! It’s been...an interesting time. Yes I think talk of childlessness as a means of “human responsibility” in the face of the apocalypse is an ego trap (for most) couched in sanctimony + lowkey shame. Let womxn be dynamic.
I mean, I know I have, like, *very* few followers in comparison to contemporaries, but even discussing motherhood + pregnancy openly is like screaming into a void, stamping “irrelevant, uninteresting” on your forehead.
I just saw a headline from a prominent radical feminist magazine touting Cardi B's "drive to have it all," presumably referencing her pregnancy. The idea of a woman parenting + creating work *outside* of child-rearing is still seen as over the top, "having it all." That's fucked.
