This is Kupakwashe Majoka. I am grateful that his family allowed me to bring his tragedy to light. Harare City Council left an open flowing sewer near his home. This act of negligence was fatal. He fell in, drowned as he was washed away in Kambuzuma. His body was only recovered in miles further in Warren Park.
Say his name. They must ALL resign.
🟣Don’t let those statements confuse you. This is what we know so far about the allegations if the agreements, treasury documents and invoices leaked into the public domain are authentic:
1. @RenFormcc entered into an agreement with Betterbrands on 13 February 2023. (Betterbrands allegedly subsequently partnered with Wicknell Chvhayo to implement this agreement as appears from alleged correspondence referred to below.)
2. The purpose of the agreement according to its preamble was for the parties to “work together” in establishing a proposal to ZEC for the supply of voter registration kits and election materials.
3. @RenFormcc would prepare a proposal for @ZECzim and be in charge of the overall “customer relationship and satisfaction.” (Clause 2.1)
4. @RenFormcc would set its market related price for the goods but Betterbrands would be entitled to add a mark up on this price variously described as “service fees” or “commissions.” An addendum to the agreement would be created setting out the pricing and additional “commissions.” (Clause 2.2)
5. Betterbrands would in turn “provide the necessary liaison effort with ZEC” to make sure the proposal matched all of ZEC’s requirements. In other words, Betterbrands would get ZEC to go through the draft proposal and tender documents to make sure there were no gaps. The stated goal was to produce “the most responsive (sic) proposal practicable.” This is tantamount to the entity requiring services being tendered for helping to draft the tender document to make sure it wins. Betterbrands would facilitate obtaining this “help” from ZEC and be paid a “commission” for this “service.” (Clause 2.4)
6. Betterbrands would also “support and participate” in any reviews, presentations and briefings relating to the “proposal effort.” (Clause 2.5)
7. According to a letter dated 24 April 2024 from Betterbrands, the fallout that has ensued flows from disagreement between Betterbrands and its “partner”, Wicknell Chivhayo regarding the payment of the “commissions” due to the company from @RenFormcc in terms of clause 2.2 of the agreement.
8. The said letter alleges that @RenFormcc cancelled the “commission payment agreement” it had with Betterbrands and instead agreed to pay the commissions to Intratek, a company allegedly owned and controlled by Wicknell Chivhayo.
9. Betterbrands got wind of the circumvention of its agreement and documentary proof that @ZimTreasury had paid @RenFormcc amounts that included their agreed “service fees and commissions.” The letter highlights one specific invoice as an example. The said invoice was initially set at US$2,6 million (the alleged original “market price”) but that was letter inflated to US$8,9 million - a 235% increment. The difference of US$6,3 million would then be the “commission.” It’s this amount that the Betterbrands and its partner Wicknell Chivhayo are fighting about.
10. These “commissions” appear to have been distributed by Wicknell Chivhayo who alleges that he is allocating various amounts to various public officials who ostensibly made things happen for the money to be paid.
11. As citizens, we hope that @ZACConline and @PoliceZimbabwe will investigate these allegations thoroughly in the interests of transparency and public accountability.
We need new leaders.🇿🇼
Dzese imbudzi, Mbudzi round about and Mbudzi scheme. It’s only fair for both to be prized the same. $88 million each project. Roads with bridges $88 million. Goats with horns and tails $88 Million. Let’s arrest those meeting at their house for now.
No ambulance , no brain scan, no oxygen in Masvingo to save Gery Mapanzure. But Zanu PF bought hundreds of cars to give traditional chiefs, thousands of cars for campaigning. Misplaced priorities 💔💔
