Scoop: EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin will appear alongside Congressman Mike Lawler, who is seeking reelection, in the Hudson Valley this Sunday.
The joint EPA event comes roughly two weeks after President Donald Trump campaigned with Lawler in Rockland County.
Lawler’s district is regarded as one of the most competitive swing districts in the country.
Zeldin's appearance with Lawler is part of a several-day trip Zeldin is taking through his home state of New York.
On Friday, Zeldin will make appearances on Long Island. On Monday, he will stop in Binghamton and Syracuse.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is meeting with GOP leaders in DC this week, including the @RNC Chair. I asked @ChairmanGruters how Republicans who backed Sen. John Cornyn in the primary can mend ties with Paxton.
Gruters said, “We're all going to come together."
.@RNC Chairman @JoeGruters tells me he's close to releasing the details of a midterm convention this summer.
"If we're going to defy history, we have to do things that have never been done...I like to call it a Trump-a-palooza."

SCOOP: The Pentagon has banned journalists from its press office, designating it a classified space. The change creates a new barrier between journalists and the public affairs officers who have traditionally answered their questions.

Secretary Scott Bessent says the Treasury is ready to create a new $250 bill with President Trump's image if Congress gives the go-ahead. The department's speed in developing the note stands in stark contrast with the years it has taken to create a new $20 bill bearing a portrait of abolitionist Harriet Tubman. https://t.co/hZvSXhTplG
Supporters inside Ken Paxton's watch party mingle as they await primary runoff election results to come in from across Texas. Paxton is running to secure the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate against incumbent Sen. John Cornyn.
Sen. John Cornyn is not hosting a watch party for his Texas primary runoff election event but is expected to speak to press later in the night. Cornyn is running to secure the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
I asked @RepTroyNehls about this. Rep. Nehls, a Paxton supporter, said, "I don't want to say I'm not concerned. We've got to work hard in November. We're going to have to work really, really hard. But Ken Paxton is going to be absolutely fantastic."

NEW: @JohnCornyn just told reporters that it's going to be harder for Republicans to keep his Senate seat if @KenPaxtonTX wins the runoff.
Sen. Cornyn added he hasn't spoken to @POTUS about his endorsement yesterday.

NEW: Just spoke to Gov. @GavinNewsom a short while ago as he was heading into a meeting with California Democrats on Capitol Hill.
On redistricting: Newsom said he's not focused on doing another ballot referendum to try and get even more seats right now. He said the focus is on winning seats across the country. "We want to pick up all five [in California], and then to support the effort to win at least two Democratic seats in Virginia, one in, I think easily one in Florida and many as two in Texas, and that's the focus right now."
On fire aid: Nearly a year and a half after the LA wildfires, Newsom says he feels "hopeful" that supplemental aid could be delivered eventually.
"I think directionally the momentum - at peril of saying this out loud, because Senator Padilla may disagree - members of the administration have played this pretty straight, and are sincerely engaged with the community in LA, and I think want to want to help folks. And that's reflected in the conversations I've had in the last 48 hours, and I just starting to feel more optimistic."
He added: "Despite the rhetoric or lack thereof, in terms of support coming from the president - but at the administrative level and the staff level, I really appreciate what seems to me legitimate progress and consideration, and that's a very hopeful thing."

#NEW | Max Morley, a Democratic candidate for Kentucky House in Louisville, is seen on a home security camera taking a political advertisement out of a homeowner's mailbox & putting it into his back pocket. Morley confirmed it was him, apologized & has dropped out of his primary race.
.@RepMikeLawler told me this afternoon he has NOT heard from @SenRandPaul and has NOT contacted him about this incident.
He also called it "the most shocking thing I've witnessed" in his four years here.
@SpectrumNewsDC has reached out to Sen. Paul's office for comment.

One of the marquee House races of the 2026 midterms is unfolding in Southern California's 40th district.
Republican Reps. Young Kim and Ken Calvert, currently colleagues in the House, are fighting over the same seat in a game of political musical chairs that began when California's congressional districts were redrawn mid-decade.
I spoke with both Kim and Calvert as we head into the thick of the primary race: https://t.co/sUuUzax6Do
