LGDS has commenced observance of World Environment Day (WED)–2026 from today (15 May 2026) in compliance with Railway Board instructions, focusing on Climate Change and challenges faced by Mother Earth. Various awareness programmes and activities are being conducted in all shops.

CWS LGDS has achieved a remarkable milestone by recording its highest ever equated outturn of 1982 coaches.
Also achieved:
LHB AC coach outturn: 284
LHB SS-1 bogie outturn: 1286
This achievement is a testament to the dedication, teamwork, and efficiency of all officers and staff.

At the Vintage Car Rally 2026, the iconic John Morris Fire Engine from LGDS won two prestigious honours—
• Indian Oil Heritage Preservation Trophy
• Automotive Trust British Heritage Preservation Trophy

Today, a 260 kWp solar plantwas commissioned at #cwslgds, bringing the total installed capacity to 1000 kWp (1 MVA).
With this, the maximum feasible solar capacity permitted under TSERC regulations has been fully commissioned under the supervision of Dy. CEE.
