So much work but made fun and interesting by awesome team!
Coastal urbanization + big ocean -> strong water quality gradient -> habitat heterogeneity at small scales -> accumulation of diverse/unique communities (even at high impact sites) -> super high regional biodiversity.
@SERNANP@OxfordBiology Finishing off the last week with presentations in @SERNANP and @cientifica_sur. Signing off with a heartfelt goodbye! 🇵🇪 Salud to the unbeatable ceviches, surf, and sunsets that kept me going through this very busy month. Until next time! 🌊🏄♂️☀️ #conservation@OxfordBiology
👋 Excited to kick off the first MCEM member thread! 🎓 I'm @cwyhaze, a first-year DPhil diving deep into #pinniped research in Peru with #drones & population dynamic models 🦭 Stay tuned for tweets about my fieldwork in 🇵🇪 last month! @OxfordBiology

“We are lucky that do not face such oppression. We should not judge those in Hong Kong who do. Far from condemning them as thugs, we should support them in their struggle, recognise their courage and salute them for their remarkable restraint.”

@dicklp Thank you so much for the piece and your thorough understanding.
We all would like to use peaceful means to fight for freedom &democracy in Hong Kong if we had a choice. We have tried many times but in vain. We are forced to use forces to protect ourselves from bloody crackdowns.
Grateful to @POTUS for signing our bipartisan legislation to stand up for the brave people of Hong Kong and hold Beijing accountable. The United States of America stands with Hong Kong.
I‘m also glad that my PROTECT Hong Kong Act was signed into law. It will ensure that U.S. police and crowd control equipment is not used to suppress pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong.
This is a good day for human rights and a good day for democracy.
It is great news that the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act has been signed into law.
It is now crystal clear that America stands with the people of Hong Kong in their struggle for accountability and democracy. https://t.co/1EgXVZK5vW
I’m glad @POTUS signed the #HongKongHumanRightsandDemocracyAct today. Without question, the American people support the people of #HongKong, and this law makes that abundantly clear to Hong Kongers, the international community, and the CCP. https://t.co/Kc78O6vBNv
Earlier this week, the Senate passed the #HongKong Human Rights and Democracy Act which I proudly cosponsored. Hong Kong’s citizens deserve our support in their demand for human rights & democratic values. I urge the president to sign this bill into law 🇭🇰
