Honored to keynote for the Cyprus Institute of Directors and Corporate Governance in Nicosia on “Guardians of the Enterprise.”

Drawing on Plato’s question—“Who guards the guardians?”—we explored the duties, disciplines, and judgment required of directors in both prosperous and challenging times. A central theme was CEO succession planning as an ongoing board responsibility, not an episodic exercise.

Το ΚΕΒΕ και το Cyprus Institute of Directors and CorporateGovernance @cyIodcg υπέγραψαν Μνημόνιο Συνεργασίας, σηματοδοτώντας την έναρξη μιας σημαντικής συνεργασίας με στόχο την προώθηση της εταιρικής διακυβέρνησης, της επιχειρηματικής αριστείας και της βιώσιμης ανάπτυξης καθώς επίσης και την αναβάθμιση του ρόλου του Διοικητικού Συμβούλου. 

Το Μνημόνιο αποσκοπεί στη δημιουργία ενός πλαισίου συνεργασίας μεταξύ των δύο φορέων, μέσω του οποίου θα προωθηθεί η ανταλλαγή τεχνογνωσίας και πληροφόρησης, η εκπόνηση μελετών και εισηγήσεων, καθώς και η διοργάνωση κοινών δράσεων, συνεδρίων και εκπαιδευτικών προγραμμάτων.  

Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δίνεται στην ενίσχυση της αποτελεσματικότητας των διοικητικών συμβουλίων, στην προώθηση υψηλών προτύπων εταιρικής διακυβέρνησης και στην καλλιέργεια κουλτούρας υπεύθυνης ηγεσίας, προς όφελος της επιχειρηματικής κοινότητας και της οικονομίας ευρύτερα.  

Στο πλαίσιο της συνεργασίας, τα δύο μέρη θα συνεργάζονται στενά για την ανάπτυξη πρωτοβουλιών που ενισχύουν τη διαφάνεια, τη λογοδοσία και την επαγγελματική κατάρτιση στελεχών, ενώ παράλληλα θα στηρίζουν την ανταλλαγή γνώσεων και βέλτιστων πρακτικών.  

Η συνεργασία αυτή αναμένεται να συμβάλει ουσιαστικά στην ενδυνάμωση του επιχειρηματικού οικοσυστήματος, την ενίσχυση της ανταγωνιστικότητας της κυπριακής οικονομίας και την προώθηση σύγχρονων προτύπων διοίκησης και ανάπτυξης.
