This costs about $3M per day to have 5000 guardsmen in Washington DC.
There are 924 days until Inauguration Day so it’s going to cost taxpayers about $2.7B for this ridiculous stunt.
Wasting money is Trump’s signature economic policy.
Trump Accounts are no longer going to be optional- so if you ever plan on having a child in the USA, you should read what I found:
According to the @SocialSecurity Administration's announcement last week, they are modifying the hospital birth registration form so that a Trump Account is AUTOMATICALLY created for your child through that same process.
It will be bundled into the Enumeration at Birth program (EAB), which is the already automated gov pipeline that gives your newborn a Social Security number. It’s one box that you check, you don’t have the option of unbundling it. So if you want your kid to have a Social Security number, they have to have a Trump account.
Which is strange, because according to the IRS and @USTreasury’s public announcements, these accounts only open when a parent actively elects to open one. So which is it? Why is nobody in the government interested in explaining this flagrant contradiction?
Who is going to answer the basic question of what a parent does if they don’t want a government-linked investment account (one that collects biometric data, by the way) created for their child at the exact moment their child’s Social Security number issued?
They can call it a savings account all they want, but a $1,000 deposit is a hell of a cheap price for building a lifelong financial file on every American child before they can consent to anything.
And once the government normalizes linking a person’s identity, financial activity, and predictive systems from birth, who gets to decide what that data will be used to predict later?
We deserve answers immediately. @ndstudio@WhiteHouse
It doesn’t surprise me that Trump is leaving a wake of destruction. That’s who he is. What does astonish me is how many people are aiding and abetting him, willfully participating in betraying every high ideal our country is founded on, wreaking havoc across the globe.
The Iran war was launched 133 days ago. The administration repeatedly said it would last 4-6 weeks.
They also touted an MOU 23 days ago, with Vance saying the "coolest thing" was seeing Iranian moderation.
And, now tonight, we're thrust right back into conflict.
Trump said he just completed his “every six month physical.”
His last one was on May 26th, 46 days ago. It’s not normal to have a physical every month and a half.
And it’s certainly not normal to take a third cognitive test in a year.
One lesson of the Trump years: the US signature on an international agreement is worthless. There was an agreement in place to govern the bridge. Trump repudiated the agreement at behest of a donor with a direct anti-public-interest stake.
BREAKING: The IRGC says it attacked a commercial vessel and has declared the Strait of Hormuz CLOSED until further notice.
This comes after U.S. officials told reporters they expected Iran to publicly announce the strait would remain open and guarantee safe passage for commercial shipping today, comments that were uncritically reported as fact by much of the press. Instead, the opposite happened.
So much weirdness in this most recent threat to destroy Iran. (Why one year? Praise Allah?) The Iranians have, I suspect, learned to tune all this out.
But something's very wrong with the president.
Trump SURE doesn’t like people reporting about the Qatari jet that he took illegally, got a BS opinion from a corrupt AG that it was fine, recklessly rushed it into service because the other one wasn’t luxurious enough, then plans to keep it after taxpayers spent a fortune on it.
