Finally, hidden files.

In Linux, names beginning with . are hidden by default.

ls -a lets you see them.

A lot of these hidden files/directories are used for configuration and settings.

Yesterday's lesson made Linux feel MUCH less intimidating.

Yesterday I finally started getting properly comfortable with the Linux command line.

I've been using Linux for months, but somehow yesterday was the first time the terminal started feeling less like a scary black box and more like an actual tool.

Here's what I learned 🧵👇

Then we got into sudo and permissions.
With great privilege comes great responsibility, apparently.
Using elevated privileges means a command can make changes that a normal user can't, you need to understand what you're running before giving it that power.
Esp with new software.
