We're playing around with definitions here.

There is the political entity called the Republic of South Africa and the physical continent we call Africa.

Various ethnicities (Including "White people") were here when RSA was created, so none of them are necessarily immigrants.

If you want to define "immigrants" as someone who is part of an ethnic group that originally immigrated from another continent, then essentially everyone who isn't "black" in Africa or Amazigh (and indigenous ethnicities ), in North Africa, is an immigrant to some other continent.

But that's not really a useful definition, because than most of humanity are "immigrants".

You may be presenting another false dilemma ("either we abuse undocumented immigrants, or we don't have borders").

This coward blocked me so I am going to say this here.

Facts show that the certainty of a punishment is more effective than the magnitude of punishment. Systems which focused on education have lower recidivism.

And abusing people in custody is morally bankrupt and uncivilized.

Also, these are mostly otherwise normal people who are on the wrong side of a bureaucratic system, the idea that they deserve to be abused in custody is retarded and you lose the moral high ground just by suggesting that it is a good thing.

You realize there is a difference between having a strict immigration policy and dehumanizing people, right?

You are making a false dillemma here (a logical fallacy).

An alternative would be that If an individual citizen with a good reputation wants you in the country and you have passed a security background check, you may enter, and there are limits to how many people an individual can invite.

This is a similar policy to what gated communities and many companies use.

This would be an individualist policy, rather than collectivist state run social engineering.

@TexasRedRacing @Not_Dreugen @Awk20000 The dilineation is relevant because a state can make unjust laws, for example. In that context those who are disobedient can be engaging in ethical behavior, and thus it is not reasonable to dehumanize them.
