My closing argument from last night’s debate. Some may not want to hear it — but it’s the truth.
I know many people feel an emotional connection to certain candidates in this race. But we can’t afford to let emotion cloud strategy. The reality is this: in today’s political climate, a status-quo, machine-backed candidate simply cannot beat Jack Ciattarelli in November.
In my closing, I laid out exactly why the establishment choice — Sherrill in North Jersey and Sweeney in South Jersey — will lose this fall. And the stakes? They couldn’t be higher.
I urge you to listen. Because the truth matters. And what happens on June 10 will determine if we have any chance of winning in November.
As CrowdStrike continues to work with customers and partners to resolve this incident, our team has written a technical overview of today’s events. We will continue to update our findings as the investigation progresses. https://t.co/xIDlV7yKVh

Summary by #ChatGPT
📜 The Sri Lankan government under President Wickremesinghe has proposed three bills that could potentially infringe on the constitutional liberties of its citizens. These include the Anti-Terrorism Bill 📚, the Online Safety Bill , and the Broadcasting Regulatory Commission bill 📺.
🔍 The Anti-Terrorism Bill, despite being revised, still contains vague definitions of what constitutes an act of terrorism. The Online Safety Bill, which is seen as a means to protect the government rather than the citizens, seeks to establish an Online Safety Commission to monitor and inquire into offenses of prohibited and false statements.
📣 The Broadcasting Regulatory Commission bill, which was withdrawn after public protests 🗣️, aimed to establish a commission to regulate the broadcasting industry. However, it was criticized for lacking independent elements and for its members being subject to approval by the Constitutional Council.
🔄 The author criticizes the government for abandoning the concept of independent oversight, as demonstrated by these bills. This is seen as contradictory to President Wickremesinghe's claim of reversing the effects of the 20th and 18th constitutional amendments by introducing the 21st amendment.
⚠️ The Online Safety Bill is particularly criticized for its vague definitions of causing 'alarm' or 'distress', which could be interpreted in various ways. The bill also seeks to protect against statements that are in contempt of court or prejudicial to the judiciary, a function that the author argues should be the preserve of the judiciary itself.
✍️ The author expresses concern over the potential misuse of these laws against dissenters and activists, as has been the case with the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights Act (2007).
🎯 The author suggests that these draft laws are being proposed with a clear and targeted purpose, and not due to a misunderstanding of their impact. This is seen as a strategic move by the government to withdraw and attack again when the political climate is more conducive.
⏰ The author concludes by warning that these laws, once passed, will be difficult to remove and could set the country back decades in terms of good governance. This is seen as contradictory to President Wickremesinghe's public stance on issues such as debt equity and climate change.
