Roadster is a true pilot's car: active aerodynamics, a multi-mode suction system & cold-gas thrusters
Exterior
– Concealed headlights, full-length taillight & flush-mounted surfaces for a minimalist, highly technical form
– Super light wheels w/ thin spokes that reinforce structural strength when earthbound
– Ano White paint brings an aerospace-derived finish w/ UV & cryogenic protection, electrostatic dissipation & corrosion resistance
– Gold Glazed tinted glass mimicking the copper coating of spacesuit visors, w/ subtle titanium accents
Interior
– Ultrawhite interior w/ gray microsuede detailing & seat bolsters for added grip
– Manual controls & a fixed seat position reduce overall vehicle mass
– Lightweight, high-strength materials throughout, including magnesium, titanium & carbon fiber help reduce it further
This allows Roadster to respond to driver inputs almost instantly
Terafab continues to develop at a very fast pace and here’s a brief teaser clip showing just some of the progress! Active land clearing, debris burn outs (burn ban was lifted on 7 October) more clearing of trees and vegetation, land grade work & a lot more.
Also, a quick video showing what it is like to go out and try to “see” the site. I’ve had many people ask where they can go to visit and honestly, it’s not really accessible other than via a drone.
Full video coming soon!
On the E side of Giga Texas, the joint @SpaceX & @Tesla Advanced Tech Chip Fab foundation continues to receive huge concrete pours working to the N grade beam, while more footing & Footing support structures are completed on the S end.
Steel erection on both the E & W sides of the center area is accelerating along with large steel truss structure assembly nearby, possibly to span the width of the foundation. This design ^ assembly is vastly different than any other structure on the site.
Large numbers of steel beams, many with welded on massive joining tabs have been delivered to the site while the nearby new concrete mobile batch plant is in operation to support construction of this $3B Research & Development facility.
The new graded & leveled clearing on the W side of Giga Texas near Tesla Rd is being prepared for asphalt paving and conduit for lighting, so this is an interesting development.
It could be used to relocate equipment or operations from the E Side to clear more room for the Advanced Tech Chip Fab, or perhaps some other new purpose.
What do you think is happening here?
