Tomorrow Tesla will unveil their next-gen Roadster, and I’ll be there attending the event live.
Going to be interesting to see what the swan song of the manually driven car era looks like!
The Optimus Factory at Giga Texas like you’ve never seen before! At night and all lit up showing off great views inside the structure that is now ~40% steel assembled! The main steel assembly may be complete by the end of the 1st Qtr in 2027, which would be truly amazing since that would be around 1 year after initial ground breaking began!
We can see the ground floor still has a lot of open trenches & part of the deep “plus” foundation footing pit still unfinished, along with some utilities work. The upper 3 floors show much has had concrete poured & even some sections os the roof as well ahead of the weatherproof membrane that will be installed once the roof is ready.
Take a look at the factory in a “new light’ today ! 😎🤖
14 October 2026 Giga Texas Snapshots! Pre-dawn flight today to capture more of the site in the dark, highlighting just how much activity there is with both regular production (employees were arriving for their shift start) & construction, which is pretty much 24/7 on the site.

The Central Support Campus with Cortex 2, the DIE Shop & Battery Cathode was also very busy with crews working on the new large water tanks under construction along with the water reclamation plant.
The Advanced Tech Chip Fab has even more steel erected today along with a massive concrete slab pour underway with over a dozen concrete trucks liked up for the pump truck. A set of massive truss beams are being assembled on the ground nearby and look like they may be long enough to bridge the entire width of the building! This is unlike any other construction on this site!
On the E side of the main factory, the Vertical Reciprocating Conveyor system has some of the mechanicals & one of the red loading/elevator lifts installed today, along with more receiving door load levelers getting concrete.
On the W side of the highway, the large lot that has been graded near Tesla Rd is getting a large section paved with asphalt, so that is a big clue as to what this new site is for!
Near the outbound lot, the new employee parking area has a scaffolding bridge to allow personnel to walk over the drainage ditch. This change allows more space on the main outbound lot for more new car staging, either for transport off site or for direct delivery, which has proven exceptionally popular!
Just south of the EOL facility, the three banks for new superchargers is making fast progress, with excavation work nearly completed & electrical.conduit installation. On the far side staging yard, the superchargers that will be installed are grouped together & ready for installation, so this might be completed in less than 2 weeks from today!
A lot more to see in this early morning snapshots clip!
A new large Supercharger station under construction on the W side of the highway near the S end of the Giga Texas EOL facility should really help with future production ramping & final preparations before shipping vehicles off site.
We see the superchargers that will be installed have been grouped in the W staging yard already & the workshop that assembles Superchargers locally is keeping very busy making more!
If they continue to assemble Superchargers at Giga Texas, I think it is time for a more permanent facility, don’t you think? @MdeZegher 😎🤠⚡️
Thank You Jesus. Thank You God. 🙏
𝕏 Takeover 2026 at Giga Texas was beyond anything we could have planned on our own. Every car, every conversation, every volunteer who gave their weekend, and every smile in that crowd was a gift.
We worked hard, but He made it happen. All glory to God. ✝️
Thank you to everyone who came, built, and believed. We're just getting started. 🚀
7:55pm is a very specific time.
Could the Roadster quarter mile be 7.55 seconds? If so, it would be the FASTEST production vehicle in the world, by a large margin
For comparison:
Rimac Nevera R: 7.90s
Bugatti Tourbillon: 8.50s
Lucid Air Sapphire: 8.95s
Model S Plaid: 9.20s
It was an honor to meet the timelessly beautiful @mayemusk this weekend at the X Takeover in Austin, Texas.
She is such a strong, funny, and inspiring person who has overcome so much in life while building a career and raising her family. Read about it in her new book TIMELESS!
Looks like @SpaceX is looking to dramatically ramp up the Starship launch cadence at Starbase, Texas (in addition to operations planned in Florida & Louisiana) in the coming few years, using a 2-phase approach!
The FAA just filed a PEIS Notice of Intent (Docket FAA-2026-12808) for Starship at Starbase.
https://t.co/HcJ25IFYFs
What are the proposed changes?
Current: 25 launches / 50 landings per year.
Phase 1 is an intermediate step while reliability improves and post-flight refurbishment stays minimal ... up to 100 launches / 200 landings on any day or time (~every 3.7 days average)
Phase 2 is described as the mature program rate, expected “within several years" with up to 456 launches / 912 landings, Monday thru Friday only (~1.75 launches per weekday average)
Note: The 912 landing figure is a site capacity cap that can include vehicles launched from other locations (Florida, future Louisiana, etc.). Super Heavy and Starship can also soft-water land in the Gulf of America or be expended.
The PEIS assumes roughly half of operations day (7 a.m.–10 p.m.) and half night for analysis purposes. Launch azimuths are constrained (40°–115°), with defined Starship landing corridors.
This only works with rapid reuse, multi-pad ops, high-rate production/refurb, and on-site LOX/methane production.
Truck-based propellant delivery is already unsustainable at these volumes & is the primary reason so many massive infrastructure projects are underway at Starbase, including an on-site Air Separation Plant & the "Starpipe" Natural Gas pipeline. @esherifftv
Still going through video & images from @theXtakeover event.
Here are some outtakes, video of the drone swarm launch & landings & a few views behind the scenes of this of us that also flew drones to provide you the images and video you saw on the final version of the official drone light show.
I really enjoyed being a part of the behind the scenes team of drone operators!
You can relive the full drone light show at this link:

Heavenly Father, bless the poor, feed the hungry, provide shelter for the homeless, and give hope to those who are struggling. Open doors of opportunity, provide for every family in need, and teach us to love and help one another.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
