i'll be honest I joined the fandom at a time where top 2D felt in part motivated by wanting to mischaracterize 2D, as a response to them becoming less "laddish" in the modern phases
when i've always thought that sort of softening was an important part of their development

always knew Murdoc was a switch (at the least, can't deny all the canon shit), but top 2D just did not cater to me
