@PlayStation And even worse, in future game museums there will always be a black void in the game timeline where we cannot play anything from that era anymore, because availability was left in the hands of platforms until the law had to step in.
@PlayStation The backlash is not because people hate, but because people care.
I've been a PS fan for well over 20 years, but without physical media (as an alternative) there is little to no reason to own a console over a PC.
@PlayStation Whatever you calculated when you decided to switch to all-digital, it's clearly a naรฏve fallacy. You prob took PS4/5 numbers as a base, but the next PS will sell less than half of that with the HW prices and no physical media. This will damage the brand beyond repair.
@JoelJ_Garcia This is not comparable. PC is open. Anyone can make a game, zip it and upload it anywhere. On PS there is complete dominance by Sony. If Sony decides to close a marketplace, all games are lost and you own nothing anymore.
On PC the publisher can decide.
@DoctorMemeMan@DREAMING_KATT Among other things they findet Dr Matsudas expedition in Africa to find the Zohar/Conduit. But this MOMO comes from 5000 years later after XSIII.
@razane_royce Why Mythra's middle finger sinking into core crystal? why details around the core crystal make no sense? why pyra breaking shoulder? why pyra wrong colors? why see mythra's fingernails when she has gloves? why the green x on pyra's left chest? why third hand on mythra's side?
@PS_Support_UK I have a great idea for a feature:
Support discs in your next console generation and make everything from PS1 to PS5 backwards compatible for that disc drive.
That as a big sign for game preservation would completely turn around the narrative and get the fans back on your side.
@PlayStation 20 years ago I switched from PC to PlayStation because more and more games on PC were going to Steam and DRM and away from discs. (also Japanese games)
But now without big Sony first-party games, without DRM-free disc options, with all games everywhere, whats the point?
@TheGamingLedger Sounds like cherry-picking to me.
No name mentioned, no comparison with digital numbers and completely missing the point that single-player PS first party games like Uncharted, Spiderman, God of War, etc., sell more than two third physically.
@PlayStation Even if you manage to somehow shift the narrative enough until the release of PS6, Microsoft will just release a "How to share discs on the next Xbox" with Step 1: Done - like you once did, to completely shatter the narrative again in one fell swoop.
@PlayStation Dear Sony,
all these messages about discs don't come from hate toward the Playstation brand, but from people who care and love Playstation.
If you go down this road, you will not only lose an acceptable margin, but cause irreparable damage to the brand.
@PlayStation And if you look at all games which are on disc and digital, (not only first party) the ratio is close to 50:50.
You are breaking your own neck. This is the dumbest business decision anyone has ever done.
@PlayStation This week I learned how extremely disingenuous the 85% claim is because it counted thousands of games which are not available on disc. When you only look at first party single player games, which is why we buy Playstations, the ratio is 70% physical vs. 30% digital.
