The hardest part of building Pocket Coach hasn’t been building the app.
It’s figuring out the exact problem we should become insanely good at solving.
You can build 100 mediocre solutions.
Or become the best solution for one painful problem.
I’m betting on the second.
I thought if I built enough features, coaches would automatically succeed.
They won’t.
A great product still needs:
A clear offer.
A real problem.
Good sales.
Consistent execution.
Software can amplify a business.
It can’t replace one.
I’m learning that high-ticket sales is actually pretty simple.
Understand where someone is.
Understand where they want to go.
Figure out what’s stopping them.
Show them how you can bridge the gap.
Everything else is noise.
Pocket Coach started as an idea for affordable online coaching.
Now I’m watching people use it for memberships, programs, 1-1 coaching and high-ticket offers.
The product keeps changing because I keep learning what coaches actually need.
Build. Sell. Listen. Repeat.
The biggest change I made in my coaching business was stopping selling “access.”
Nobody really wants access to videos.
They want:
A plan.
Feedback.
Accountability.
Someone telling them what to do next.
That’s what people pay for.
Building Pocket Coach has completely changed the way I think about software.
The features are important.
But if the software doesn’t help someone make money, save time, or get a result…
Nobody cares how cool the features are.
Build around the outcome.
I spent a long time thinking lower prices = easier sales.
Turns out people will happily spend more if the problem is painful enough and the solution is personal enough.
Selling a $1,500 coaching offer has taught me more about sales than selling a $25 membership ever did.
I wish I could make a post telling you how many users we gained at launch or how much money we made in the first month. But i cant.. it’s been a slow vigorous learning process. I wouldn’t want it any other way. Greatness comes with time
4 years ago I built a snowboard company. 2 years later we did $250k of sales with %60 profit.
The following year I had to sacrifice the business, to put everything I had into a new vision.
Going all in
I give %50 of everything I make to my company.. Howver technically I’m ok route to do a $1k month.
With my online snowboarding program.
Day 9 of publicly promoting my coaching app until we have 100 successful coaches
Gotta lead the pack.
Day 8 of publicly promoting my coaching app until we have 100 successful coaches..
My mission is to collect educational creators with 5k-10k follower range and train them how to build a coaching business.
The app is the long game, the coaching is now
Day 7 of publicly promoting my coaching app until we have 100 coaches..
43 coaches.. 15 very active coaches. 4 making money.
Lot slower process then I thought. I know this has potential, just got to slowly push the rock off the hill and get things moving.
I went into my last relationship confused on what I wanted or where I wanted to go. And left hurting more then some ever but at least knowing exactly what I wanted.
Sometimes the most valuable lessons hurt the most.
